Don’t you think that this is misleading (to say the least): “The 1st Free Complete Internet Security Suite”… everyone knows that CIS is the first and the only Complete Internet Security Suite.
Already discussed here.
Ok, sorry I didn’t see it
That is a problem with the Desktop Security industry in general to be honest.
Look at what Symantec says:
Norton Protection System uses several overlapping layers of protection that work together to stop viruses, spyware and other online attacks.
These are all misleading statements imo. They should not be allowed to make such wild claims like these…look at the underlined claims especially, these kind of claims give “false sense of security”.
This desktop security industry is a unique industry where consumers and businesses spend $10B a year on, and there is simply no standard that their products have to comply with!
You buy a simple padlock for $5, even that $5 padlock has standards it has to comply with…but Desktop Security product that is supposed to secure your online bank, your private details complies with NO STANDARD!!! And as if this is not enough, they go ahead and make claims like the above which causes false sense of security imo.
Melih
I totally agree with you Melih but (this is no excuse) Agnitum are saying their suite is the first free complete suite because of their spam filter which is included in their free suite and yes you are right because this is so misleading, it should actually read;
The first complete internet security suite which is restricted in every way, firewall (restricted) HIPS (restricted) Malware protection (Restricted) if it’s restricted we’ve got it,oh! but we have a spam filter
I have to say Comodo’s layered security is just so superior in every way.No restrictions,no worries.
Cheers Melhi for a truly great Free unrestricted product

Not really.
See http://www.forticlient.com/
It’s the first Security suite before outpost for a year.
This outpost security is a piece of ■■■■! Comodo is way better watch languy99 review of it it only caught like 1 out of 21 links.
Yes you are right, I totally forgot about Forticlient, i stand corrected, sorry.
As far as I know, there are 3 free security suites on the market: Comodo, Forticlient and now Outpost.
Forticlient and Outpost are quite limited compared to the paid version…but someting is moving: seems that Alwil (Avast!) will change his free av, starting from version 6.0. They will include the automatic sandbox based on a behavior analysis: an executable file that could be dangerous, then is sandboxed. It’s a different approach compared to the Comodo one, where every unknown file is sandboxed…but it means that the market is reacting to the Comodo challenge…they realize that they can’t compete with it if they don’t change deeply their products. Problem is that, to compete with Comodo, you need to put on the market a FREE product, more complete and more performing than the Comodo’s one…and it’s not easy
I’m afraid that your’re wrong…
This is posted by pk (one of Avast developers):
A fully function sandbox will be present only in PRO/IS versions. Avast 6.0 should contain basic sandbox framework for scanning purposes only.

This is what you meant?

What may be of special interest, also, is that this is how it's going to work even in the free version (which means that the core functionality of the sandbox will likely be moved to the free AV).
The core functionality…better than nothing. ;D
