Suddenly started high level of download activity

At some point on 22nd March, my laptop suddenly started downloading large amounts of data from 104.17.240.186 or 104.17.241.186.

I didn’t notice until 24th that my average daily 4G data used had suddenly increased from around 300-400MB

22nd 5.5GB
23rd 8.5GB
24th 5.7GB (Heading for 10+GB if I had not discovered the issue)
Almost 20GB gone from my 4G allowance in 2.5 days.

ResMon said Image doing the heavy downloads was csssrv64.exe. I did a little investigating (tricky as I was losing a lot of my remaining 4G allowance). It pointed to Comodo Secure Shopping and I uninstalled that product. I had only tried it once or twice so won’t miss it.

Data usage has averaged approx. 500MB since removing Secure Shopping.

Environment:
OS: Windows 10 Home 1809
S/W:Comodo Internet Security Premium 11.0.0.6744 (Build 17763.316, Clean Install 26/11/18)
Hardware: AMD Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.00GHz 8GB RAM
Browser: Comodo Dragon V72.0.3626.81 (64-bit)

Hi Mistroma,

This issue has been resolved. Please check.

OK, thanks. It was a bit of a shock to see my 4G data allowance vanishing. Luckily I have 50GB /month and spotted it fairly quickly. Another 3 days and I’d have run out with 3 weeks left in the month. No harm done though as long as you don’t want me to send all the data back. ;D ;D Doh.
