Take a look on how the version 2.0 will look like. I consider they made a huge improvement in Spybot’s GUI.

Yeah it has nice GUI improvement. We will see how much better the detection will be in 2.0.
If it’s better then maybe I start using it again.

The GUI looks great, Hope the detection goes up with it
Yes, I also hope that it’s detection also improves.
Indeed that the detection level improves, nice gui maybe but detection level has to improve.
Just last week a buddy had a rootkit, running Spybot SnD, after alot of trial/error only Trojan Remover was able to remove it.
looks awesome, hope the detection rates become a bit better too ;D
Wow! Interesting indeed. But remember GUI isn’t everything.

Did anybody ever try to delete this program and have it dump all the malware on to your drive?
Pretty sure it would give you the option to delete the files in it’s quarintine… If it didn’t then when uninstalling it might delete a valuble file
Big jump in version, from 1.6* to 2, are there major changes?
Believe me or not but I tried to uninstall SSD and it unleashed all the sites that is had stored in the registry and I was flogged by all of them. I happened across them by accident when I was looking through Windows. It had some of the worst sites in the world, the names of which were self explanatory.
I tried to use an uninstall program and needless to say, my computer was attacked by every site listed in SSD. I had to start from nothing. It was probably my mistake and I am willing to take the blame for the unleashing of the plethora of the worst of the worst so I guess be careful of this program. I don’t see the necessity for it to begin with if you have Comodo 3, BO Clean, Comodo memory firewall and other Comodo products.
By the way, someone on the forum recommended Revo Uninstaller. I took a chance because the people here seem to want to help you, not hurt you. It is great the way it stands but it tries to call back home to mama so you might want to block it from com, protected com, loopback, dns, etc.
Also, if you want to back up Firefox and Thunderbird completely try and buy EZ Backup Firefox & Thunderbird basic. It restores all you settings, bookmarks, mail, everything. Be careful to block it from calling back home as well, it’s perfect as it stands.
Unlike SpywareBlaster, which, if you uninstall it, still will leave the immunizations behind, the same does not happen with Spybot Search & Destroy and it sort of makes sense.
So, if you uninstalled the product, which erased all the sites it was protecting your from, why the complaint? I’m sorry, but I really don’t understand your point of view. (Unless I understood it wrong, which I, then, apologize.)
Also, I didn’t understand what you mean by “Believe me or not but I tried to uninstall SSD and it unleashed all the sites that is had stored in the registry and I was flogged by all of them. I happened across them by accident when I was looking through Windows. It had some of the worst sites in the world, the names of which were self explanatory.”
Do you mean, that, as soon as you uninstalled Spybot S&D, that you went to such sites, out of nowhere?
I use Spybot S&D for it’s preventive measures and I never had any issue when I, for some reason, had to uninstall the application. I never got flogged (if by flogged, you mean you were “attacked”) by any of the nasty sites it protects us from.
I’m not saying that it didn’t happen to you. There’s no way I can know that, but if it did, then why not reporting it to folks behind Spybot S&D and help it to become a better security tool? After all, it is a 100% free security tool and, I believe, it is of our interest to help improve such tools (Including Comodo’s :D). Makes sense, no?
As far as Revo Uninstaller, I also use it. I truly don’t know if it tries to phone home or not, but, I do know that it is set to automatically check for new updates. It is up to the user to go to it’s settings and change that, if they wish. Or simply block it with a firewall, such as CFP.
I always block applications, which do not require to use the Internet, from connecting, just in case they do try to phone home. I guess that would be common sense.
Best regards
