Some updates on my situation after a whole day trying to correct this.
Forgot to mention I’m Windows 7 SP1 x64
Exported whatever config I could from the last update
Attempted to install again using in-place upgrade from web installer. Installation started upgrade but stalled again at 44% for over an hour.
This caused the add removed entry to be removed.
Terminated the installers MSI and CMDinstall and the 4 Comodo processes with process hacker.
Used the MS uninstall tool applet (Replacement for MSI Cleanup utility).
Manually used the GUID Strings for removal:-

Booted to safe mode.
Manually removed Comodo Firewall and Security Non Plug and Play Drivers from Device Manager.
Ran Both Cleanup tools provided on the forums.
Manually removed Comodo folders from :-
Program Files
Program Files (x86)
Programdata
Common Files
Users\Appdata\Local and Users\Appdata\roaming
Manually removed entries for comodo and comodogroup in regedit for :-
HKLM\Software
HKCU\Software
HKU\Software
Restarted and installed Comodo Firewall again.
Installation completed successfully.
I could see the application has still stored some setting such as the timeout I set for alert boxes??
Imported previous configs for Internet, Proactive and Firewall. (these were not my original as they were from the upgrade version that created new rules sets).
Rebooted as required.
There is still a problem with the application(s)
As noticed also on the upgrade previously and the current application installation. It blocks almost everything by default which wasn’t imported and it also does not apply setting automatically for trusted vendors. ie if I run a trusted vendor application it is still blocked completely unless I unblock it. Even application that I am sure was unblock previously although launched (unsandboxed) were still listed as on the block page.
Done a scan to find all unknown applications and added them to trusted (which they all were)
I also noticed that anytime I go into the application to modify setting or unblock an application, it will put a fresh Comodo Firewall icon on my desktop and change the sort order.
I also get a permission problem with I try to install killswitch from active process list :-
An error occurred while installing the product:
Failed to initialize the installer. Please check your file system access rights. Error: 5. Access is denied
Try Again.
Overall this product seems fairly broken I have had no issues with any other versions.
My computer has the same software installed on it now for a long long time now, no major changes.
Also I am tech savvy and work in the IT industry and there is nothing I could class on my computer being a contributing factor to the behavior.
