I have an odd problem, wanted to find out if anyone else is seeing this. On 9/8/16 my Comodo instance failed to update, and failed for the next three days. That’s when I spotted the problem. Knowing several other people who have Comodo installed, I talked with them and it turns out that anyone with Cox Communications as their ISP had the failure; people with other ISP’s did not fail (at least AT&T, CenturyLink and Verizon).
I have Cox as my ISP and had failed the update for three days; I connected my notebook to AT&T via my cellphone and it immediately updated successfully.
The next morning (6/12/16) all my computer had successfully updated. I thought the problem had gone away. However, the problem is recurring today; again, it appears to be only computers connected through Cox.
The actual error in the console during the task “Download Signatures”; the error from the log is “Error: 0x80070002 - The system cannot find the file specified.”
Product version is 8.4.0.5076; Database version is 25751.
I would like to know if anyone else is seeing this issue, and if so, if anyone has found a fix.
I am asking if anyone else is seeing the behavior where the updates are failing when connected to Cox as the ISP, and succeeding when connected to another ISP like AT&T, Verizon or CenturyLink; those are the only 4 I have access to.
Again, my primary ISP is Cox; updates are failing; when I connect the same computer to another ISP the updates succeed.
I’m beginning to wonder if this is some sort of caching issue with the ISP (Cox in my case)… but I am early in my own investigations.
