I think it is a crucial feature in these days of internet insecurity. I have discovered that surprisingly few backup softwares include this. Do you know why? Is it lack of foresight or are there some significant costs involved over and above ftp? From my simplistic view all browsers support https so why don’t all backups support sftp, especially when backup sites already offer sftp?

If you have any info on this it would be appreciated, thanks.

Sftp is less commonly used than ftp.
Probably this is why most backup software don’t have this.
Anyway, this feature will be introduced in CB in a later version.

But my key point is that because Comodo is a security company then supporting the use of sftp should be a higher priority!
