Are you attempting to backup to a DVD? If so does the scheduler work to backup to your C: drive or another physical drive?

Hi John,
I am attempting to backup to a stand-alone hard drive.
The backups will work when not scheduled i.e.at call.
I will have to check to see whether they work to the C: drive, and get back to you.
thanks for your interest

Hi John
The answer is yes, it does backup to the C: drive
So this means there is something stopping it going to my backup drive. However I guess I could make an external task after backup to copy the files to the backup drive.
Things are looking up

Is your backup an external drive?, USB?, or internal?
So this means there is something stopping it going to my backup drive. This could be several things. Your firewall, file sharing, admin rights. Are you able to access files on that drive easily from your main drive?
I think you are on the right track now if you can isolate the thing that is blocking it.

I’m watching this for an answer. I have the same situation. I think I have everything set right, but still cannot get an automatic backup. I can do an manual start.

HI John,
Not much time to do things today. However, The drive is an external drive operating thru a USB connection. I can easily access other files on this drive thru a My Docs window.
we’re getting there

I’m in the same boat:
Running Win2k3 Server. Comodo is installed under the Administrator’s account (I have actually gone into services and set Comodo to run under my administrator account credentials). I have the TASK SCHEDULER running - I get nightly MySQL backups by way of verification. I actually don’t see a Comodo task listed in the SCHEDULED TASKS folder.
I’m backing up several local folders from the server’s internal C: drive to an external USB K: 1tb drive. All backup tasks are SERVICE mode; all TEST just fine; all tasks are COPY WITH DELETING OTHER THAN SOURCE (one job makes 2 revisions; other jobs do not).
All 3 jobs run fine manually; none run as they’re supposed to when scheduled.
Separately, I have a Vista-64 machine backing up to an external NAS drive via a UNC address - same issue - the service seems to start and stop, but files are never copied.
In the logs, I see Comodo backup starting and stopping, but no files are ever copied (and there are definitely changes every day). I have extended logging ON. Example from the Win2k3 machine:

I have just about given up on getting the scheduler to work.
I have made it work the first time, but follow up backups don’t seem to work.
Also, can only backup to my C: drive.
It looks as tho I will have to go back to remembering to do it, and then copy across to my external drive. I have tried to make this an automated process, but don’t seem to be able to pull this off either. I have tried using a .bat file, but my knowledge in this area is poor.
Ah well, it seemed like a good idea at the time…

I also have the same issue on a W2K3 SBS box. Did not had this problem when I tested out the software on XP PRO. All suggestion in the topic did not help.
I turned it on at user level now (instead of service) and hope it will back-up tonight. Of-course I cant complaint about this wonderful free product! But I do hope someone can take a look at this problem cause it seems to be a bug in some specific configuration/set-ups or something??
/edit; If you need any information let me know!
