I wish Melih answered last posts of this thread, please.
I sent a PM to Melih some months ago, outlining these concepts. He replied promptly thanking me for my input, which is more than most other CEOs would ever really do; we all know that with most companies the CEOs are very rarely in direct contact with the end users of their products or services.
Melih is very down to earth and understands how important it is to listen to people, he has proven this by logging in here and talking to us directly. This is one of the main reasons why Comodo is my favorite software developer. A lot of other CEOs could learn a thing or two from Melih.
I have worked for a few big companies in the past in a project leader position, and have seen first hand how isolated sometimes the decision makers can be. It is often not their fault, it’s just the way the corporate environment is structured. I don’t profess to know the ins and outs that define company policies and decision making, Melih is in the thick of it and knows better.
I just hope that he assigns better priority to CTM. Alongside CIS this could be the product that could define Comodo’s future legacy in the eyes of countless end-users worldwide - provided of course that the new version is rock-solid with a wide variety of hardware/software configurations out there. We don’t want a repetition of the problems many users have faced with previous versions; that’s why assigning more human resources and manhours to its development is absolutely crucial.
In the future I envision CTM and CIS being pre-installed on many brand new PCs, so many more new users worldwide can be safer and learn first-hand what Comodo products can do for them. The programs could even include configuration wizards which would enable even novice users to configure them properly, explaining everything in a language that beginners could understand. Imagine for example if the likes of Dell (and other large computer manufacturers) had such Comodo products pre-installed, instead of the likes of McAfee/Symantec etc. It would be hard for Comodo to break into this specific market, but it would certainly not be impossible.
While their at it. They might as well give an option to not install OEM crapware. After a bios OS reinstall. Then getting CTM. I still have to delete buggy and unpatched software that leave loads of residue. Another threat surface for hackers.
The silence is deafening. They must all be very busy…
Doubtful… it is the weekend after all.
well its been a little over 2 weeks hopefully we hear something soon.
+1
impatiently waiting …
Maybe the thread title should be changed again to something like:
By Popular Demand: Assign more resources to Comodo Time Machine!
Melih is gonna hate our constant moaning and impatience… ;D Undoubtedly he’s got bigger fish to fry. I think that the problem here is that CTM would be perceived by many as a ‘fringe’ freeware utility, and as such it would placed at the bottom of the pile and receive minimal priority.
It’s a true shame that most computer users worldwide are totally unaware of the existense of such a rare utility…
Right now only Melih would calm us down… Maybe he can post what is happening here…
I’m not quite sure why Melih needs to post about what is happening. Razvan already has…
Because things seem to have changed a lot. We will have a beta phase from March and now we’re on July with the sensation that Windows 8 will come to light much before CTM if we will even see it coming to light…
Because Melih said this will not happen again…
Yes, he was aiming for March, but as his post stated, they had to redirect their resources to other priorities. Obviously that slowed development down.
I’m anticipating the release of the new beta as much as anyone, but when the lead developer has already stated the reason the beta has been delayed, I really don’t understand why further confirmation of this reason is needed. ???
All we can do is wait patiently.

it’s joke there is no CTM version
Delayed yes, joke no.
I cannot see Razvan joking about CTM please see here and please do not continue to post in this way without some evidence to back it up.
Thanks.
delayed practically to infinity equals to no version
Your understanding of “infinity” seems somewhat limited. 88)
exactly up to the limit of patience

I understand how you might feel, but nevertheless you should probably keep some of these feelings to yourself. I doubt it’s helping here any. :-\
A new chinese developer has come into play in the meantime:
This is free for a limit of ten snapshots, it doesn’t work with SSDs, and it looks like a very basic product which is still in its infancy. The lack of proper English on the site didn’t inspire me with confidence either, I mean how hard can it be for a developer to find someone with sufficient command of English to write it properly for them?
The developer is open to suggestions though and it’s only a matter of time, talent, and dedicated resources before they get it right. There is a thread at Wilders where users pinpointed the bad things about it and sort-of ridiculed it with the bad english and all. A few days later the developer (Xiasoftware) logged in there and listened to everyone’s suggestions, thanking even the ones who provided negative and sarcastic comments. A positive attitude to say the least.
The obvious moral of the story: Given enough time a new developer will eventually come up with a viable snapshot solution that works on SSDs. Last I heard even Toolwiz were developing their own freeware snapshot solution. I just hope it doesn’t happen while CTM3 is still brewing. More and more developers will be boarding the snapshot bus in the future and Comodo needs to secure and maintain its position as the “bus driver” before it starts getting too crowded in there.
If Comodo insists of resigning CTM at the bottom of their “to do” list, they run the risk of losing their early advantage in a techonology that is becoming less rare as time goes on.
