Samsung TV and the Comodo Firewall

Hey Guys,

First of all let me say what an excellent piece of software CIS is!

I have Comodo internet security premium installed (4.1).

I have a problem with my Samsung TV.

The TV comes with a program called Samsung PC Share manager which allows you to stream content from your PC to the TV.

When the firewall is on the software does not show up on the TV (turn it off and it does).

I have allowed all three of the executables below when it popped up asking me what to do.

the three .exe’s involved i think are:

WiseLinkPro.exe
http_ss_win_pro.exe
Samsung PC Share Manager.exe

and in Network Security policy all three are marked as “allow all requests”

If anyone has any tips or help for me it would be greatly appreciated as i do not like having to turn the firewall off when i stream ;D

I would first create a new trusted network using the stealth port wizard and use the IP address of your router with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 then I would make sure those 3 apps are using the predefined policy trusted application in both the network and defense+ policy.

Hey Futuretech,

First of all let me thank you for replying to my message

The steps i took were:

  1. Define a new trusted network and make my ports stealth for everyone else

  2. i would like to define and trust a new network zone

  3. Starting IP → i put in 192.168.1.1 (Router)

  4. Ending IP → i put in 192.168.1.120

  5. It worked

P.S i could not enter in an IP address and a subnet mask (one or the other).

Anyways it worked, just thought i would spell it out incase it helps someone else.

Many thanks futuretech!
