I never had your problems I have to admit that the email scanning is slow but I’m always able to send/receive emails. About the synaptics driver, I most of the time disable it from booting because it’s a waste of resources.
Been using for over a month now on both mine and my niece computer, have a few friends sold, its been great no fp, so slow down and most of all no virus, I run it along with comodo firewall and its the best I’ve used so far, to me it beats avast hands down. I am using the paid version.
I’v use this for 3-4 month and everything works fine.
I like it’s update module It’s fast and really invisible.
And they have a good free email support to.
However I can’t find where to send the miss-detected file to them.
Is there anyway to change the pop-up time of the application protection agent? ← not sure about the name… Haven’t used for a while.
I remember it only being popup up for about 10 seconds.
Hi Ronny, I started a thread on Rising AV a ways back, I really liked it and still do but now I’m a dedicated CIS user I’ve yet to be infected and more than likely never will be since using it, Rising has its merits but I’ve come to understand the true power of CIS and especially what’s to come that Rising will never be able to offer…
Cheers
Xman ;D
Xman, thanks for your reply, I love the rising software, no aggravation and no virus and it also have HIPS, updates and silent and daily, overall the best I have used. Comodo is still my second choice. I have the paid version of Rising internet security, running along side Spyware terminator and all is good. I’ll continue to check the newer versions and I do avast. I see they have a beta 5 out only in the free version. Thanks for the comments
Yesterday I downloaded RAV to try as Avast seems to be slowing down apps and browsing - I’ll see if Avast 5 is any better.
Installing RAV was a bit more complex than Avast was, but careful reading of the options gave a fairly clear idea of which to choose.
The PC does seem more agile and browsing is snappier. Does RAV actually scan browsing as Avast does?
Although I’ve turned on everything there’s no indication of when RAV is doing something - I like Avast’s spinning ball as it shows that something is happening (even if it’s only the ball spinning!).
So far RAV seems OK, but of course it’s difficult to know if nothing happens!
I don’t know about the spinning ball but it has kept my system safe and without popups every second or flagging legit programs as virus. Sometimes no news mean good news, but each to their own, whats good for each individual system. Comodo is on its way to the best, and I still tell my friends about it.
Could you please explain the benefits and/or drawbacks of using ‘the cloud’, anyway I thought CIS v4 would be going that way too in conjunction with the usual way (or is that just my mind playing tricks on me thinking i read that here?!) so any clarification would be well recieved.
PS- Sorry to OP for kinda Hijjacking, but it’s stlln on topic with regards to AV…
I have using right now two anti virus software for my system. Laptop for Avast and PC for nano anti virus software. Both are very nice software. Well had many experience to used some anti virus software but it was all of this bed software.
