RESOLVE: Cannot resolve host address: uk2.vpn.comodo.com: [NO_DATA]

Since tonight I cant connect anymore to Trust connect from my laptop
De message is: RESOLVE: Cannot resolve host address: uk2.vpn.comodo.com: [NO_DATA] The requested name is valid but does not have an IP address.

I also cant connect anymore to www.comodo.com The message is: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

Any clue what might cause both? Looks like that my IP is complete blocked because i can access the website via a proxy.

Thanks in advance

Strange …still have this problem. It looks like it my pc …cant connect to the comodo website. aslo can connect with Trust connect (see above)

not able to connect to comodo website is the case for Explorer as for Chrome.
I have un-installed my antivirus software and installed a new one …nothing changed.
also checked the hosts file … nothing to see.

My GF\'s laoptop on the same router does not have any problem connecting to comodo.

I can only acces this forum by making use of an proxy.

What can it be?

Try to give the following commands in Command Prompt:

ping www.comodo.com
ping uk2.vpn.comodo.com
nslookup www.comodo.com
nslookup uk2.vpn.comodo.com

What is the output?

Thanks response.

Do you have a firewall on your laptop? If yes, turn it off and try to connect to TrustConnect.
Also, show please the output of the following command:
tracert uk2.vpn.comodo.com

Hi,

Yes have Norton Internet security. Had un-installed it earlier because of this reason. Even without Norton still the same problem.

tracert uk2.vpn.comodo.com

Do you know any tool which tell me what blocks on the pc the access to comodo? (its only comodo which cant be accessed)

Thanks in advance

May be left overs of previously installed security programs are in the way. Please make sure no left over of them are in the way.

Try using removal tools for those programs. Here is a list of removal tools for common av programs: ESET Knowledgebase .

only have norton running … it happened overnight.
Can try the the tool but had an succesful install of norton searlier and still comodo was blocked.

Lets see wat the result will be … do not have much hope

Hi,

Just to let know the the problem has been solved by a complete new re-install of the laptop.
I found out that not only comodo was blocked but also other AV- vendors as well. It was probably a virus which was not picked up by Norton. After the install the virus came back from the USB drive … at this time Hitmanpro took care of it also Norton sonar was now picking it up . So it had nothing to do with Trust connect  Thanks for your support
