Hi, I have use the Comodo Firewall since version 2. I would like to have a function of upload & download bandwidth limiter same as I using in ubuntu.
It should be working to setup bandwidth for application e.g firefox (20k/b), Bittorent (10k/b) and so on. It also can be used to set bandwidth to internet between pc e.g PC 1 (50k/b), PC 2 (50k/b), PC 3 (50k/b).
This would be a great feature, and what better place to implement it than the firewall.
But I think it takes some effort to implement (leaky bucket / token bucket algorithms) and it’s non-trivial to configure. Should apps get full bandwidth when others aren’t using it? Should it throttle traffic packet by packet, or only after a number of seconds of continuous traffic? Do you want time of day constraints as well (full bandwidth available for downloads at night for example)?
I use a free Net meter which is fully programmable to warn me when I am approaching my ISP`s monthly download limit . http://www.metalmachine.de/readerror/
