Request For Bandwitdh Limiter

Hi, I have use the Comodo Firewall since version 2. I would like to have a function of upload & download bandwidth limiter same as I using in ubuntu.

It should be working to setup bandwidth for application e.g firefox (20k/b), Bittorent (10k/b) and so on. It also can be used to set bandwidth to internet between pc e.g PC 1 (50k/b), PC 2 (50k/b), PC 3 (50k/b).

That’s all.

This would be a great feature, and what better place to implement it than the firewall.

But I think it takes some effort to implement (leaky bucket / token bucket algorithms) and it’s non-trivial to configure. Should apps get full bandwidth when others aren’t using it? Should it throttle traffic packet by packet, or only after a number of seconds of continuous traffic? Do you want time of day constraints as well (full bandwidth available for downloads at night for example)?

If I remember, CFP 2.4 had an option to limit the number of connections per app. Would be really good this feature!

It is a good idea.

very useful for people with limited connections

That would be really nice!

The first 2 post say it all.

:-TD Not my vote.

I guess you guys want the BIG GUYS to buy CIS, and make it un-usable for fans like us.

Please COMODO, please dont make CIS better, I love it in its current form.

But, If BIG GUYS are not reading this, :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU :-TU

I use a free Net meter which is fully programmable to warn me when I am approaching my ISP`s monthly download limit .

I don’t think a bandwidth limiter would make CIS unusable…it seems to go good with a firewall.

Apologies for above URL should be | ReadError . Then scroll down the page

What programs would people like to Traffic Shape?

I would like to Traffic Shape ‘Vuze’, but I don’t think that would be easy (or possible). If it is possible, then :-TU.
