Following the automatic update just after booting, Boclean displayed a message that it could not write a file and referred me to an explanation at the bottom of the page at http://www.comodo.com/boclean/supboc.html. There is no explanation of any kind at that location.
I opened the Boclean menu and configuration screen in hope of finding a clue but without success. Unfortunately, the error message box closed when I closed the Boclean menu, so I am unable to give the exact woding of the message. Extremely frustrating!
Can anyone help?
I would say just reinstall BOClean
but, is there any errors as of now?
Hi normanw, welcome to the forum
Do you have this problem under (a) limited user account(s) ??? If that is the case you should grant "modify and “write” permissions to the limited user(s) for the CBOClean folder. How to do that for your Windows version you can find here :
And look for : Cannot get BOClean to update on “limited user accounts”
Thank you. Yes, I realised what the problem was when the error message appeared again after a later boot, but your reference to http://www.comodo.com/boclean/supboc.html#bocdiff enabled me to confirm the problem.
For reference in case others find it useful, the exact error message is:
Permissions or connectivity problem!
Unable to copy file to the BOC427 folder!
Visit http://www.comodo.com/boclean/supboc.html and at the
bottom of the page, what you need to do is explained.
Obviously the message needs to be amended to refer to the correct URL and to the correct position within that page. I realise this is a work in progress, but the online manual includes a number of screens that do not match the reality of version 2.47, which is confusing to a new user. Can the development team be advised?
Yes, you are right :-TU I will email Kevin ( the developer of BOClean ) that this needs to be updated
