Purityscan45 - Rainbow Six Vegas 2 update

Hello,
I was wondering whether the guys at Comodo had heard anything about the new Rainbow Six Vegas 2 patch. BOClean (v4.26) said it was infected with the PurityScan45 trojan. I’m sure this is a false positive because this patch was downloaded directly from Ubisoft.

Thanks.

Hi ilikedonuts

Please test the file that BOClean flags on http://www.virustotal.com or http://virusscan.jotti.org .

If it comes out clean :

Email the file to: malwaresubmit [ at ] avlab.comodo.com .
Specify in the subject line “False Positive ?”.
Zip and password protect it with “infected” and include that information in the body.

Thank you

Greetz, Red.

Thanks Rednose,
I would except the patch is 51 MB and I can’t be bothered waiting for it to send. Maybe I could just send them the link to the file.

Purityscan hasn’t been available for over 8 months. This is almost certainly a false positive.

One thing you could do is to download the purityscan remover (google purityscan - there’s heaps of removers) first, install the Rainbow 6 patch and then run the remover. Problem solved.

Hope this helps,
Ewen

P.S. Good removal instructions and link to remover found at
