It says check firewall setting to ensure printer communication not blocked Where do i look in firewall to check this?

How is your printer set up?Is on a LAN pluged into your router or wired directly to the back of your computer.
If you click on Firewall/View Firewall events and then click on “More” you can view the firewall and Defence+ logs.See if anything relating to your printer is in either.

My printer is on a LAN yes. This is a Vista and the other machine is XP. The XP is connected by USB to the physical printer and the XP will print.Also I can share the file over the LAN and go to the XP and print it
but I cannot connect to it over the LAN. Don’t see any reference to it in firewall logs
