Yes, the full signature base uses some 700mb rather than around 250mb and very slightly has performance impact. They decided to ship with just the light database a year or so ago to improve performance since everything is cloud checked anyway and containment sandboxes any unknown file whether there is a signature for it or not. Maybe it should be an installer option.

Performance and true protection are more important than big signatures. That’s why I didn’t using hashes even if fuzzy hashes like TLSH anymore.
