Problems with Symantec Antivirus LiveUpdate

I upgraded to the latest version 2.3.4.45. Now LiveUpdate doesn’t work, I verfied with Comodo off, I can run LiveUpdate. I add the rules to allow but still no go. Any suggestions and anyone having the same issue. Thx.

Can you explain in more detail, the settings you used to try and allow it? Thanks.

With the tomorrow’s update, some possible causes for this issue should be fixed. Lets see if it persists after tomorrow.

In the mean time, you can check your CPF logs to see what CPF blocks.

Just to follow up on this, I was able to get it to work now. I uninstalled Comodo, ran CCleaner, reinstalled, launched LiveUpdate, and Comodo prompted for access. There must of been something messed up with my original install even though I uninstalled the old version and did a clean install of 2.3.4.45. Thx for the replies guys.

I am also having a problem with Symantec Antivirus’s Live Update. Everytime Live update tries to run it prompts me if i want to allow it or not. I put the check mark in everytime to remember my settings but it still prompts me with the same message. I then tried manually created it as a trusted application, but it still prompts. this is the only application ive had this problem with. It usually works well with the rest. Any suggestions? please reply…

Hi PC_Junkie,

it could be that you need a new or modified rule in Network Monitor before Comodo will allow an application rule for LU to work. Either that, or an existing rule may need to be moved up the list. Try checking the logs and look for Alerts that may have occured at the time LU failed. You may see some outbound and/or inbound violation policies.

Now I did a little research on rules for LU and it looks as though a rule for either LUCOMS~1.EXE or LUCOMSERVER.EXE should only require: TCP | Outbound | Remote Ports 80 & 443 . Hopefully that will work. But again, please do check your logs for connection issue clues.

And happended same with me , after upgraded to the latest version 2.3.5.62, Now LiveUpdate doesn’t work, I verfied with Comodo off, I can run LiveUpdate. I add the rules to allow but still no work.
