Glad to see I’m not the only one who can’t get this installed. Have tried several times. Ran uninstall tool. Nothing works. Works until installing kernal drivers, then rolls back and quits. Was very happy with Comodo but, about to give up. Any ideas??

You can try reinstalling V3 and then uninstalling using my procedure. Then install V4.
It’s possible this will work.
Also, can I get some details about your system?
Which OS are you using (also 32 or 64 bit)?
What other security products are currently installed on your system?
Which version are you trying to upgrade from?
Have you had any problems with your previous version?
Have you had a malware infection lately?
Running xp sp3 32bit. Have avira personal and zone alarm firewall. Tried to update before either of these were installed. Would I have to disable or uninstall these before trying your suggestions? Was using version 3. something. Not sure what it was as I have uninstalled it.
Also, scanned machine with what I’m using now. Nothing found.
Zone Alarm should not be installed when you are trying to reinstall Comodo Firewall.
Avira shouldn’t be a problem, but you could try disabling it and see if it makes a difference.
I just installed the last 3. version with zone alarm running with no problems. Is uninstalling only required for version 4?
Technically it shoudn’t be, but since something on your system isn’t cooperating with the V4 installation it’s best to have fewer variables to worry about.
Also, I’ve found that for CIS it’s usually a good idea to completely reinstall when there is a major change in the program.
Following is a tutorial I wrote for a manual removal of CIS. My advice is to start with seeing if the Firewall driver is still there and uninstalling it. That is in the last part of the tutorial.
Uninstall CIS and reboot. Then run [url=http://system-cleaner.comodo.com/]Comodo System Cleaner[/url] to get rid off registry keys.Then delete the Comodo folders under Program Files, Program Files\Common Files, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ .
For Vista/Win7
Users%username%\appdata\local, Users%username%\appdata\roaming\ and \Users%username%\appdata\local\virtual storeTo be even more thorough open Device Manager and set it to show hidden devices under menu option View. Then see if there are Comodo driver(s) left in non Plug and Play drivers. If so select the driver → click right → uninstall and reboot.

How to uninstall the CIS firewall driver when it stays present after following this or using the clean up tool? Look up the properties of the network connection, select the Comodo Firewall driver and uninstall it. See the attached image.
Now reboot back into Windows and CIS should be gone and you should be able to install it again. You can run a couple of registry cleaners you trust to see if there any Comodo left overs.

Didn’t think so. Just ran the piece of junk cleaning tool. Couldn’t even get rid of Windows temp files. Ran Clean-up! and deleted every one of them. I’m guessing if I upgraded to pro or whatever other name it’s called, there wouldn’t be any problems. Thank’s for wasting my time.
