Every time I try to print from applications such as Firefox, Word, etc. Comod D+ bugs me that the application is trying to create a new file C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS[random_name].SPL
I allow it and tell it to remember my answer, but because of the random name, D+ ends up creating a bunch of rules for file names that I will never see again (due to their random names).
There are a few issues here:
-
D+ should be smarter about printing and have an option to allow applications to create spool files
-
Is there a way to add C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ as a global exception? C:\WINDOWS\system32* is protected by default and I’m not sure how to list a subfolder as an exception.

What is the format on a per application basis to allow the app to create files in a protected directory (via the Access Rights/Protected Files and Folders options)? I tried the following and none seem to work:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS*
Thanks Comodo for looking into this.
