Preventing changing of attributes

It’s a common experience that when a usb-borne virus infects a host pc, the next time a new usb is plugged in, the files and folders are converted to system, hidden files. Is there any way that we can prevent attribute changing?

Other then removing the virus its self?

If it’s possible, yes.

You would need a USB drive which can be locked. Preferably with a switch on it.

You could block all drive letters that are not in use in D+. But that is a crude method.

Much obliged. Thank you for your quick response.
