PositiveSSL and IP on URL

Hi,

I have a PositiveSSL for my domain on web server apache + openssl:

when i try https://mydomain.com all is ok it work very well
when i try https://www.mydomain.com all is ok, it work very well

but when y try http://XXXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (my ip) it not work, the certificat is invalid ?

Any idea ?

Hi

The certificate Common Name is the domain name, not the IP address.

If you try to use the IP address it basically sees it as a name mismatch, so gives the error you are seeing.
