A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
[ol]- Summary - Give a clear summary in the topic subject, NOT here.

  • Can U reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?: Yes, reliable
  • If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened: Install Gratuitous Space Battles, start it, get black screen and completly hangs-up OS.
  • If not obvious, what U expected to happen: Not to crash
  • If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?: There is no such FAQ. At least i can’t find it on google
  • Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version: Steam, Gratuitous Space Battles. Both latest versions.
  • Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc: Disable of AV, FW, proactive wont help, but complete deinstallation of CIS did. So looks like problem with HIPS/Drivers

Thank you very much for your bug report in standard format. We very much appreciate the effort you have made to document this bug.

We are sorry to trouble you further but there are some items of information missing or unclear in your post:

A.8. Your CIS Diagnostics report please, and ‘Watch Activity’ Process list with Steam and game Running
B.1 You CIS config = proactive or Internet security?

The reasons we need these items of information, though they may not seem directly relevant to the issue are explained here.

We would be very grateful if you would add these items of information so we can forward this post to the format verified board, where it is more likely to get fixed. You can find assistance using red links in the Format and here. If you need further help please ask a mod. If you do not add the information after a week we will forward this post to the non-format board. If this happens we will tell you how to rectify this if you wish to.

In the current process we will normally leave it up to you whether you want to make a report which includes all necessary information or not. We may remind you if we think a bug of particular importance.

Many thanks again

Full reinstall of CIS (or update of Checkpoing Endpoint Security  ) fixed the problem

And how i supposed to do that if my OS completely freezes?

Internet security

Fair point, but sometimes an apparent lockup is a CPU problem, so control-Alt-Delete allows a dump albeit slowly, but in your case I guess this is not what is happening?

Many thanks for the config information

Best wishes

There is no such FAQ. At least i can't find it on google
All help is linked to in the format post, using red links. This FAQ is still mainly for version 5 (sorry) but has some guidance on application to version 6, so It can be used.

The FAQ would suggest that you exclude the Steam and Game executable directories from shellcode protection.

Please tell me if this works and if you have any log entries indicating shellcode being blocked.

Best wishes

Will add tracking number when you have tried the above tests. If they resolve it, then it’s a known issue and needs that tracking number!
