Wow, I did not expect 12.18. Index of /pub/opera/win/1218/
This is an important update. Finally Opera 12 can make really secure connections (green). Supported cipher suites with default settings:
TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (0xc02b) Forward Secrecy 128 TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (0xc02f) Forward Secrecy 128 TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA (0xc00a) Forward Secrecy 256 TLS_ECDHE_ECDSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA (0xc009) Forward Secrecy 128 TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA (0xc013) Forward Secrecy 128 TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA (0xc014) Forward Secrecy 256 TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (0x9c) 128 TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA (0x2f) 128 TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA (0x35) 256 TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 (0x9e) Forward Secrecy 128 TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA (0x33) Forward Secrecy 128 TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA (0x39) Forward Secrecy 256 TLS_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA (0xa) 112
Opera 12.17 supports neither AES_GCM nor ECDHE_ECDSA or ECDHE_RSA.
There are several sites which Opera 12.17 can not connect to, but 12.18 can. Like this test site: https://cert-test.sandbox.google.com/ It supports only TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256.
12.18, like 12.17, is for Windows only.

BTW, support for TLS 1.2 in Opera (stable) is as old as this topic. New in Opera Presto 2.2: TLS 1.2 Support
Opera in now officially a Chinese owned browser. What changes are to come ?
While I don’t use Opera 12, and don’t recommend using it, I was thinking that it might be possible to run it at low rather than medium integrity level (IL) on Windows (which I also don’t use, but can run in VirtualBox). It is. However, the profile, which is by default at medium IL, then becomes inaccessible, of course.
Solution: change the profile folder’s IL to low, using icacls.
On my virtual W10, I have Opera 12.18 portable in the folder Opera12 on the desktop. The command I used was:
icacls "C:\Users\JoWa\Desktop\Opera12" /setintegritylevel (oi)(ci)Low
That sets the IL of that folder and everything inside it to low. Downloading files with Opera is now possible only to a folder at low IL.
The attached image shows Opera running not only at low (låg) IL, but also as a job object (indicated by the brown colour). I used Process Explorer’s Run as limited user… to launch Opera, and I used PsExec to run Process Explorer a low IL, but that was of course not necessary (just for fun). That’s why Process Explorer sees so few processes.
