Opera, Opera Beta & Opera Developer

New snapshot of Opera 11(version 1045).

When this Opera 11 Alpha 2 was released it became evident that in order to conveniently upgrade I needed to find out what was preventing me from installing Opera 11 Alpha and having to run the uninstalled .exe. After trying a few solutions I found out that the problem was that I have Opera .exe listed as a forced program in Sandboxie and it was Sandboxie which was dropping the Opera installer’s rights and preventing the Opera installer from installing Opera and I was getting this message…

So I now have Opera 11 Alpha 2 installed and ready for the next snapshot!

Using the 11.0 alpha now its really fast…i likey but unfortunatly the extensions are acting up and not working

A new snapshot has been released!

Yup, got that. It’s good enough to use as a default browser.
Opera and Avast! do seem to release Alpha/Beta builds that are stable and functional - and don’t crash/lock up the PC. Now, if Comodo did the same…

Opera 11 Alpha b1055 is also supposed to fix the DSK-317389 (Insecure Third Party Module warning when starting Opera (DEP/Data Execution Prevention)).

WARNING: This is an awesome development snapshot: It contains the latest incredible changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.
;D

I like the new address bar feature that tells in the blink of an eye on what sort of page one is.

Yes, that’s the reason that I’ve just installed it.
I didn’t bother with the last release as I don’t use Google and I was a bit nervous about Google bits taking over. This release looked good so, after backing up the entire directory (all of Opera 11 is in one place), I’m giving it a go.

I’m just waiting for a stable version that supports extensions…

Got it yesterday off the FTP site - there was the address in the Comments on the last build ;D

BTW, it’s now possible to turn off the Mouse Gestures UI: go to Preferences Editor, search for gestures and untick Show Gesture UI then Save. Annoying grey circle gone!

Opera 11 snapshot version 1128.

Bloody mouse gestures UI is back and now can’t be exterminated ???

Gestures still a bit ‘broken’ - can’t use mouse-flips without the R-click context menu appearing about 25% of the time.

Something weird when a link opens in a new tab - seems to have some sort of stacking turned on by default and I’ve not yet found out how to disable it.

Other than that, not too bad.
