Opera 9.5 Released!

Very interesring page.
It looks like it is possible to assign certain commands to keyboard shortcuts.

eg. I used http://nontroppo.org/tools/buttonmaker/ to look at the command to toggle menu bar on/off (View Raw command)
The command is Disable menu bar > Enable menu bar I created a b alt application keyboaard shortcut and assigned that command.
It worked

At the same time it is possible to run arbitray javascript on a page using shortcuts like the page you linked.
This also means that you can assing an url to a shortcut.

Ps to load the bookmark Show popup menu, ā€œInternal Bookmark Folderā€,1 it is nice to use in full screen (F11)

bump! - which I could see by clicking edit on your post. (:TNG)

That’s a tip worth trying, thanks.

That’s cool gibran, I’ll look into it when I install Opera.

From one thing to another; as I’m about to reinstall Windows again, I might just as well check what Safari is all about. :SMLR (most likely it’s not my browser but it would be interesting to try it)

LA

EDIT: I just can’t stop laughing out loud. The Apple Safari installer uses .msi

Not so soon :o

Maybe it comes with a portable installer for you (:TNG)

BTW when was FF3 released?
About Secunia Research | Flexera :o

yes this old news… This security vulnerability is also present on firefox 2 and the Mozilla foundation was aware of this vulnerability the day the download day was started… I think there will be a patch soon…

maybe not :o

What we can confirm is that about five hours after the official release of Firefox 3.0 on June 17th, our Zero Day Initiative program received a critical vulnerability affecting Firefox 3.0 as well as prior versions of Firefox 2.0.x. We verified the vulnerability in our lab, acquired it from the researcher, then promptly reported the vulnerability to the Mozilla security team shortly after. Successful exploitation of the vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code. Not unlike most browser based vulnerabilities that we see these days, user interaction is required such as clicking on a link in email or visiting a malicious web page.

Does this not confirm my words? It says June 17th 5 hours after the official release… This is on download day… is it not ??? This is 1 week ago, so what is the point ??? (:SMLR)

by the way, nice pic! you like Japanese anime?

Sorry I believed you meant that this exploit was already know before they released FF. Shame on me obvously they didn’t or they would have patched it already (:SHY).

I’ve actually reinstalled Opera now, and guess what, the profile folder is now located in Program Files\Opera! :BNC

Also, I put those files in the plugin folder. Now, using the Windows Media radio on www.sr.se like I discussed with Soya via PM, still doesn’t work - but this time at least I get an error message: ā€œCan not create DirectShow playerā€.

hey No problem man! Mistakes are the things that makes us human beings otherwise we would be machines (read:The Terminator…) haha (:LGH) I ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  myself up… anyways I hope they patch it or indeed it could be that they patched it already…

DirectShow might require DirectX. Are you surrrre you didn’t remove anything in that area under Bold Fortune’s spell? (:NRD)

Eew man that’s disgusting.

(:TNG)

Yep. But I also used this one

PS: but it pales compared to latest Soya avatar

BTW that was the only funny scene in that movie :-X

I haven’t removed anything related to DirectX. On the other hand I haven’t updated the runtime at all, as I was hoping this would save disk space.

By the way it’s true that Opera falls back to Gmail’s basic HTML view. Since I never use the web cilent I didn’t notice anything strange and didn’t remember that it was that what you mean when saying that Gmail doesn’t work.

Since this is a user preference I guess it’s stored in cookies. I’ve encountered problems in at least another site that I think are related to cookies. Maybe it’s because of the different ways that IE, FF, etc. on one hand and Opera on the other handle cookies (separate text files vs. a single file, etcetera)?

You guys even persuaded Microsoft to release a nlited copy of XP

Lo and behold GMAIL beta works ;D

Don’t tell me they served me an alternate version :o

No, it also works for me since the beginning. The problem would be that it doesn’t remember your choice for the standard view between sessions–according to LA, I haven’t tested it thoroughly.

EDIT: Oh I guess you mean the problems you had to log in. Oh well Unsolved Mysteries.
