i think is possible , just create the vm configuration inside the virtualbox , create the virtual hd with the same dimension of the real pc and start the vm with the rescue cd create from the real pc , then restore the backup

it’s a idea for the team to implement this function to make this easier
with commercial product like acronis true image , backup file can be opened directly into vmware player to run the backup as a vm…the result are not executed fast …but in this case i think is a feature requested from acronis or from vmware…
will be better if there will be a converter to convert the full cbu to a vmdk or vhd file then you only need to create the vm configuration in your hypervisor
