Not present in Signature Database

Hi

Couple of questions :).

  1. Sometimes these files (see screenshot) are detected by CCS, other times not. Why would this be?

  2. I’ve also submitted these files on numerous occasions but they never seem to be added to the database. Is there a reason for this?

Hello,

“Not Present in Signature Database” means they are not malware.

Hi Adrian

Thanks for your reply. I think this message can be misleading. To me, it sounded like this file was unknown to your system (going by the text in the yellow box) and that is why I kept submitting on each version of CCS. Wouldn’t a message like “This file is not identified as malware or suspicious” be more appropriate? Is this file being flagged by CCS simply because it isn’t digitally signed?
