Norton now installing unwanted Cryptominer money maker Norton 360
Norton acquired Avira for 180M$
After some time later, Avira offers CrytoMining in their software. Luke FileWalker must be sad
People installs antivirus to protect themselves from crypto mining but antivirus already mining under the hood >:-D
By the way, only Avira Prime software includes the CyrptoMining and GameBooster feature.
it’s starting to get nauseous…
Should we report Norton & Avira to Comodo labs as Potential Unwanted Application (PUA) or Trojan.Win32.BitcoinMiner :P0l :P0l
Avira & Avast and also other free antivirus softwares using reaaly hard marketing tactics to make their users install their ■■■■ softwares.
That must be stop. Once I was using Avira and I suggest the free avira antivirus to my friends for easy to use and cloud feature.
Everything changed over time.
Yes, it’s disgusting.
Avira seemed owned BullGard before
So Bullgard in the time may offer Cryptominer soon.
Norton acquired Avast before and Avast currently no plans for adding CryptoMiner in softwares (Source: an employee post on Avast forum)
Avira Security detected by vendors ;D ;D
Please see VirusTotal result : VirusTotal
The detected file digitally signed by Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG
I trust the signatures from Emsisoft, ESET, Kaspersky and Microsoft. So can we say a vendor switch into a malicious file provider ?
