No internet connection with cavs

The purpose of uninstalling and then installing in safe mode is to prevent other security software from disturbing the process. This also applies to the defining of your safe programs. Once the safe programs are defined, (with any luck, avoiding interference from other software) you can then reboot normally. You are quite right that CAV will not work in safe mode (possibly a scan might be done), but that is why you want to set up your exceptions in safe mode: interfering software will not be running there also. Note that the wireless software should be designated as safe also - this may help those who had trouble connecting to the internet. I cannot promise that this will work, but it is a process that worked for a very similar problem and it is not dangerous and it is simple enough to try.
