What kind of RAM use are you guys on this 12.3.4.8162 version?
I am still running 12.2.2.8012 on some PCs and having zero issues. Mostly just use the HIPS and firewall. While Defender and Comodo double team as AV. I’ve tried a more recent version in the past (over a year ago) but it felt buggy and bloated.
The only glitch I’m seeing now whenever OneDrive updates (frequently) it goes back on the blocked list. Even though I’ve even wildcard approved the installer and program file. Might be time to revisit with 12.3.4.8162.
But curious how resource light/heavy the new version is with the extra bells.
COMODO Internet Security = 1.62MB
COMODO Internet Security = 39.3MB
COMODO Internet Security = 20.0MB
COMODO Internet Security Protected Helper Service = 1.4MB
COMODO Internet Security Helper Service = 82.1MB
Total = 144.42MB
Thank you np2359. Good news it is lighter than the last time I tried. Might be worth going thru the effort of a clean install and re-setting up all the HIPS and firewall rules
The above statement is your opinion. So far, There has been no official statement by Comodo regarding whether or not Comodo Internet Security (CIS) will continue to be developed and updated. The thread you mention referred to a staff member’s post in the Xcitium forums. @EricCryptid (a moderator here) concluded that the Xcitium post was likely misinterpreted and that CIS is not discontinued (an assessment that I agree with). It is well known that Comodo’s products are not updated often, but that does not mean that they have been discontinued.
Unfortunately, we rarely get any official communication from Comodo, which leads to rampant speculation.
Perhaps @Melih can help resolve this uncertainty. Is Comodo planning to maintain and update CIS in the future?
The report needs to be updated, according to the website that tested it with Comodo, AVLAB found a flaw in the sandbox and there is the detailed report.
There was an issue, but it was not a Sandbox one. A malicious file was incorrectly Whitelisted in the Comodo Cloud, thus neither CIS nor Xcitium would detect or contain it.
CF without the Cloud component enabled would have stopped it, but the Comodo part of the test was done on CIS with default settings.
This is the statement on the AVlab results pages which is what cruelsister has confirmed :
" The results of Comodo and Xcitium are also surprising, as both solutions failed to block a single (same) threat that had previously been classified by the developer as a False Negative: incorrectly marked as safe in the developer’s cloud, which may have affected the global response for workstations."
Melih confirms the developers’ work on the CIS 2026 version.
I therefore invite you to submit your complaints about the upcoming new version.
Thank you.
Vulnerabilities and other issues will be fixed in the CIS by 2026. Some have been reported for five years, but nothing has changed. And please keep in touch with users on this forum; it’s important.
