Hi all,
Well that’s the migration done (thankfully). All is looking good, going good.
So now for some new toys…the newest, shiniest ASG went live a couple of hours ago though you may not have noticed it.
Headline in this release is ‘Relay Restrictions’ under the Incoming menu for the domain. This feature allows an overworked, underpaid, stressed-out mail admin to strictly define the MTA servers from which email can be accepted. ASG admin even has a ‘Lookup’ function in the Relay Restrictions creator to resolve IP addresses
Think of it as a 3rd layer of security filtering so that now you can filter by sender-name, by domain-name and by MTA. How cool is that :-La?
Good situation to use this would be a branch-office which is only allowed to accept mail from a head-office or a high-security environment requiring dual-filtering, i.e. email has passed through a first set of filters before it goes through ASG filters.
Let me know what you think please.
Try not to let them get you down
Later…
Michel.
