does the email scanner set the server to localhost in order to scan?
if so can it revert to the server when it finishes?
since I started using this feature this stops me sending mail
is there a workaround or is it just my settings etc

Hiya,
I’m not currently using CAVS as I’m waiting for the 2.0 release on the 18th of this month. Unfortunately, I’m not able to help you but I’m sure someone here can.

CAVS email scanner does redirection POP3 and SMTP request. So as long as email scanner is on the email requests goes to server through cavs email scanner.
There could be the problem of server not responding if some application is installed which also does such mail redirection like AV.
