does or will CPF 3 support IPv6?

At the moment, CFP V3 only support IPV4, but I believe that IPV6 has been factored into its devlopment.

IPv6 is a protocol the has been in development for a number of years and originally scheduled to replace IPv4. It is not a device. You can and there are many people who do, myself included, spend years working with this and still have more to learn.
IP is Internet Protocol It used to transmit data over the internet.
It is the primary protocol used on the internet at least for the communication between the work stations and the servers. It can be encapsulated within other protocols while the (communication) packet is in transit. Probably at least 95% of the information you see when you use the intenet is transported using a sub-protocol of IP called TCP or also called TCP/IP. TCP is a connection oriented protocol meaning that when it sends a message it will be verified if not verified it will be resent.
other sub protocols to IP are UDP(a conectionless Protocol),ICMP(primarily used for sending error messages),IGMP(used for things like streaming video)
There are many other protocols used to transmit data.

it said nothing about what you just told me i know about the whole tcp and internet protocol thing if they just would have said internet protocol then i would have known what they are talking about but they said ipv6 insted.

Origanally to connect to the internet each computer or device needed it´s own Registered internet address or IP address. the current protocol IPv4 supports 232 (about 4.3 billion). IPv6, however, supports 2128 (about 340 billion billion billion billion) addresses. With the advent of portable devices that access the internet all requiring IP addresses, it was the thinking of the experts that with the increase of portable internet access (like all the internet enabled phones blackberrys amoung other devices some possibly not even invented yet ) there would be a shortage of addresses. This problem has largely been remedied with NAPT(Network Address Port Translation) or PAT(Port Address Translation), but this too has its limitations. This is what allows multiple computers to 1 IP Address as on most home routers.
This technology PAT(Port Address Translation) is very often incorrectly refered to as NAT(Network Address Translation) NAT actual tranlsates only 1 IP address for another IP address. ( a one to one relationship).
NAPT(Network Address Port Translation) or PAT(Port Address Translation) has a one to many relationship.
Ipv6 is also an enhanced protocol that many features that will be of benifit to mobile devices. It supports QOS. Wherein time sensitive transmissions as VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol(IP)) and Video over IP would have prior priority over general internet traffic allowing for improved quality in video streaming. VOIP is particuarly sensitive to Delay, Corrupt Packets and dropped packets. IPv6 is designed to help control these problems.
