internet help with my laptop needed

Was using my laptop and lost the internet. Getting great signal but can’t get on. I restored to default settings which did not help, then i restored to a few months earlier still it did not work. i tried to hook up wireless and with a wire nothing works. Running Vista and IE. Can any one give me a few things to try?
I am using a Gateway

Is Gateway the brand name of your laptop?

Can you connect when using an ethernet wire? Try repairing the connection of the wireless access device. Does that help?

besides this

Unplug the power to the router for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait until all lights come back on (it could take a minute or two). Then see if you can get back on the internet

If that fails, exit Comodo. wait a second or two. Now see if you can get back online. If you can get back online then it’s one of your firewall rules thats been added

If none of those work, do you know how to take a picture of your screen.
I’m not sure exactly for vista, only windows XP and windows 7. So bear with me

  1. open “network and sharing center”
  2. click on “change adapter settings”
  3. lets go with “wireless connection settings” and right click on that
  4. click on “status”
  5. click on details
  6. upload or post picture of the “details”
