Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you were asking if it was safe to delete index.dat. Not sure if CSC can/does delete it though.

Hi,

There are various tools that can erase the content of index.dat, overwriting with blank characters, but it can’t be manually deleted as long as it is a file used by the operating system.

We all know the tools and how to delete it manually I guess. The questions is why CSC does not provide such function? I hope this will be added as a feature request. What do you know about it? Is it on schedule or it won’t be. Thanks.
