A forums! Maybe you guys can help. Authorize.Net was useless when I emailed them.
In researching an online store, http://www.dascheap.com/ , I found that their checkout page displays Comodo ‘authentic’ seal and the Authorize.Net ‘Verified Merchant’ seal, but don’t you usually click on those and have them verified from the provider? The former is just an image and the latter displays a page that is hosted on their site. On top of this, the checkout page does not have any SSL.
Are these fake? And what’s the point of these if a site can just display the logos, while a person can’t go to a comodo website, punch in the URL, and see if it’s real? Most people won’t know the difference.
