NTRegOpt helped a teetsy bit. Can you guys do me a favour and export your HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive to like your desktop and tell me what the size is? Mine is 6.80 MB.
Remember, there are at least two NTUser.dat files:
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService
C:\Documents and Settings[i]
Mine is only 1.10 MB (size on disk).

Seems like a good program. Might give try sometime. 
Anyway, I removed some bloat from my PC today by cleaning it! Was a lot of dust in in! After cleaning my CPU temperature lowered by around 5°C!

I stumbled on your forum posts while googling about nLite configurations.
Although i haven’t read all the post, I sure found them interesting, and very often very, very funny. I even called my wife so I could read some of it to her. She has sat with me over the last seven years patiently waiting while I nLited and reinstalled probably over a hundred different versions and incarnations (is that a real word?) of XP SP1 SP2 and SP3.
If this post is still active, reply me, and we can exchange some experiences with nLite.
I have not been after size so much, but rather to have the necessary add-ons and updates install with windoze to reduce the post-install process, and hopefully get better stability and speed.

Secondly, let me also recommend the nLite thread we have. It’s pretty similar to this one, but obviously more focused on nLite.
Personally I’m not nLiting very often these days, but I’m sure there are interested users to discuss with you. At least I may post something, who knows.
I agree with you Jeremy, I should change the title. I chosed XP from the beginning but I never changed it to “OS”, someone else did that.

Potential impact: If some services (such as the Security Accounts Manager) are disabled, you will not be able to restart the computer. If other critical services are disabled, the computer may not be able to authenticate with domain controllers. If you want to disable some system services, you should test the changed settings on non-production computers before you change them in a production environment.

Anyway the link is an interesting resource, an explanation of each service and consequences of disabling them, :-TU by MS itself not third parties that may or may not know what they’re talking about.
So you need to disable the big service : Windows (:NRD)
