how to automate backup of comodo firewall rules

Hi,

I understand that Comodo FW rules are kept in the registry. I’ve also read that there’s an export function in Comodo itself. Is there a way to automatically perform this export, say from a scheduled script like a .CMD file, so I don’t have to remember to go in Comodo and manually export?

BTW the answer might be obvious if I just opened Comodo and looked for myself, but my XP box is down right now so I’m planning for the future.

Thank you!

No way that I am aware of to automate the export of configurations. Please remember you must run the GUI as Admin to successfully export/import configurations.

Ah’ now this could be an interesting thread… ;D

Anyone know which Reg’ Keys store the Policies? Surely a Batch File could Export those Keys, when initiated by the Windows ‘Task Scheduler’…?

:-La
Another Batch File could Import; by Deleting the Old Tree, and Writing the New Tree, from one of the previous Backups.

They are stored here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Comodo .

When I right-click the System Tray icon and select ‘Configuration’, ‘COMODO - Firewall Security’ appears to be selected.

So I am guessing, all I need to do, is backup this Branch…

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Comodo\Firewall Pro\Configurations\0

I’m not sure if it will be possible/safe to restore it later though. Maybe in Windows ‘Safe Mode’? ???

Note:
0 = COMODO - Firewall Security.
1 = COMODO - Internet Security.
2 = COMODO - Proactive Security.
3 = COMODO - Antivirus Security.
