How do I stop the madness???

I am having problems with the free Mac version of Comodo Antivirus. The small icon in the top bar is white with an x in it and when I chatted with GeekBuddy a couple of days ago and explained to GB he said to uninstall and reinstall. I uninstalled and downloaded what I thought would be a new version of Comodo Antivirus and reinstalled it. The same version was installed and I’m still seeing the little white shield with the x in it. The Comodo Antivirus summary tab shows it is disabled with a virus database update back on Jul 12, 2021. I also see the message “The virus scanner is not functioning properly!” Run Diagnostics it tells me it found problems and asks if I’d like to fix them. It verifies the integrity and tells me I need to reboot. I reboot and once rebooted I get this message…

The diagnostics utility has found some problems with your installation.
Would you like to fix them?

I click Yes

Then get this message…

COMODO Diagnostic utility needs to reboot your computer.

I click Reboot again
It reboots and again I get the message…

Would you like to fix them?

I answer Yes again
Get the message…

COMODO Diagnostic utility needs to reboot your computer.
I click Reboot
It reboots and again I get the message…

Once again I get the message…

So I created the diagnostic report and all of the CodeSignatures status = “OK” and…


It was suggested in another post to allow access to Comodo in the Security & Privacy settings but I can’t find where to give Comodo permission within the S&P dialog.

How do I fix this issue???

Could you please provide us the below required details for further investigation:

  1. Mac OS version
  2. CAVM version
  3. Share us the screenshot of:
    a) The small icon in the top bar is white with an x in it
    b) The Comodo Antivirus summary tab shows it is disabled with a virus database update back on Jul 12, 2021.
    c) The virus scanner is not functioning properly
    d) Run Diagnostics it tells me it found problems and asks if I’d like to fix them

Here is a screen recording of what I see when I update the virus database.
I also try a quick scan but nothing happens.

Oh, I did forget to include the CAVM version…
