How do I create 2 profiles OR accsess profile manager??

Greetings…Loving the Comodo Ice Dragon that i installed just today!
Got a question…In Firefox I am able to have two profiles , 1 for the wife and one for myself that way our bookmarks, history and add-ons are separate…

She has hers and I have mine…We have it set so that when either one of us open up FF it asks which profile we would like to access allowing us to select our Firefox ( her’s or mine) before it opens.

Beings Comodo IceDragon is based on Firefox I assume we can do the same? that being the case how do I access the Comodo IceDragon profile manager or profile editor?

Thank you for any assistance given
…Johnny

Hi and welcome JohnnyD,
You have a few options.

  1. Add the -p switch to the target field of CIDs shortcut.
This will open the profile manager at CIDs start-up giving you the options to edit/add/remove/select profiles.
Instructions in the link below for Firefox for an example.
Use the Profile Manager for Firefox
Your target field should be as follows for 32-bit
"C:\Program Files\COMODO\IceDragon\icedragon.exe" -p
  1. Alternative is the following extension which will add the profiles and profile manager to CIDs context menu (Screenshot).
    ProfileSwitcher
Note: If you use the ProfileSwitcher extension you will have to add CIDs executable to the ‘Executable path’ found in ProfileSwitchers options under Add-ons, Extensions in CIDs context menu.
    Default path = C:\Program Files\COMODO\IceDragon\icedragon.exe

  2. Open Windows start menu and type iceDragon.exe -p into the search box and select open.
Note: You can use the Run Command box if it is set to show in the start menu.

Kind regards.

You are welcome Johnny and you also have a great day.

Thank you.

thought this was as good of a place as any to ask about running two separate instances of cid. if anyone wants to take a look at my previous thread i think they will probably figure out why. if not i think using a clean copy with the one i have already installed i can slowly buildup the clean to where i have the customized copy at and at the same time ferret out what is causing the issues with the customized version. so is there any way to run a untouched copy of cid while running the customized cid i have?

You should be checkin’ out this thread:

It works flawlessly; once you do that you’ll be golden.

cool, thanks very much.
