HijackThis report

I followed the instructions found in “What to do if you’re infected - eXPerience Rev.2”.

I am attaching the “highjackthis” log.

I am still experiencing symptoms of what I believe is a virus. My “keyboard” will spontaneously type at will. Random characters will be typed when and windows opened, including the run dialogue box. My computer beeps all the time.

I am usually pretty careful about what I click on. I did try to acces a video on facebook but it never opened. we do have youtube blocked on our computer, so I assumed that is why the link did not open.

I am frustrated that comodo and the 3 other malware programs I have downloaded have not detected any kind of virus.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi chromusdomus and welcome to the forum.

I am replying to your post as there have been no replies so far, so I guess noone else reading your topic has the specialised knowledge to deal with your problems safely either.

You seem to have leftovers from a hijacked websearch.

You could read the tutorial here:

Then decide if you want to post on a more specialised HijackThis help forum, unless someone else here can help you.

There are known dangers involved in running that program, so maybe it would be better for you to have someone trained in it’s use to guide you through.

You can check it by yourself pasting the log here
http://www.hijackthis.de/

James,

how are you ablrer to determine that I have leftovers from a websearch?r

The old search hooks and the unknown file in the winsock could well be related and point to that conclusion for me.

But as I said before I do not have enough knowledge of this to advise.

I ran the HJT logs through www.hijackthis.de and it adviced for the problem with the Winsock “Check your hard disc drive with Spybot S&D from Kolla.de or LSPFix from Cexx.org. This entry should not be fixed! Your best bet to repair it is to try the LSPFix from Cexx.org.”

I would say start with Spybot Search and Destroy and see if it will get rid off some other things as well. After having scanned post a new HJT log here.

Nasty (1.23 / 5.00)

The above are what http://www.hijackthis.de/ recommends.
I personally say use extreme caution before allowing HijackThis to fix anything.

The suggestion to bring this to a HijackThis forum would be a good place to start.

LSPfix will say your Winsock LSP’s are ok.
Don’t worry about them.
