High memory use

just recently got CAVL installed and running happily

but after about an hour or two of it running in the BG, my PC started hanging while my swap use went crazy…
I ended up having to close a few programs to open System Monitor to find this:

I only have 3504 MB total (max allowed) with 8 GB installed (yes I’m running on x64)
the issue is my motherboard uses DDR2 memory and 3504 MB is the cap
I can remove 2 sticks without affecting my system, I just don’t bother…

so yeah 1.2 GiB really hurts me :frowning:
