For some reason my virus database won’t update. What can I do to resolce this issue? I have not updated since Jan. Everytime I try I keep getting a failed error.

What version of CIS do you have installed.

If you have an old version of CIS, the AV update are no longer supported. If you have a recent version of CIS, the AV update is very unreliable.
Uninstall the AV component and install another AV, there are plenty of free ones which do not suffer from update issues.
