trying to reinstall latest and greatest chrome, getting “Google Chrome has stopped working” in the middle of the install (the full standalone version and the download version both) windows details seems to be pointing to guard32.dll, see my 64bit win7 problem details below

In system32 I have a guard64.dll and the guard32.dll is in my syswow64 folder. since I have 64 bit and I assume comodo installed a 64 bit version, (the help does not specify that only that its version 8.2.0.4703) why is the guard32.dll being invoked anyway? Also when I got the problem and saw windows was pointing the fault at guard32, I disabled comodo everything but I’m still getting the same problem after the disable? thanks for any help here
