After filling out the form (not using advanced options) I’ve clicked the “Agree and Continue” button. The same form came, all fields were marked with a green check, no error message shown.
Trying again, this time clicking on “Advanced Security Options” I noticed that both IE7 and FF2 do have an empty drop drown box for the “Cryptographic Service Provider” field.
Clicking on “Agree and Continue” has the same results.
I am not getting anywhere. The support of IE7 on Vista on the comodo.com sites is rather bad atm.
This article was released on February 13 (has been over 2 1/2 months now) and I am wondering if support for IE7 and Vista is going to happen any time soon?
Any news about cert on IE7-WMail-VIsta 6 months from the 1rst post?
… I have the same problem with a empty selection box for the Cryptographic Service Provider and no way to go farther the step1 “fill out the form”…
… I’ve been linked to the Comodo web site, through the Windows “Get a digital Id” in the Option/security Tag of Windows mail, so I guess that this problem is known by a lot of people… My Vista is with french language installed, so maybe it’s not exactly what you read when using English Vista.
I would appreciate any information concerning this issue. Thanks.
Which mysteriously shows closed. How can it be closed since the tech only emailed me once and I responded.
When I try to apply the certificate there are none in my computer. I am
using windows mail. So I click Tools>accounts>mail account>security. Next to
that is a select button. When I click it the box is empty. Same with the
other button. See screenshot for proof.

I have even PM Melih. Still no response. This does not show, in my opinion show a concern for the users of their product. Shame on you Comodo. Please feel free to Pm me or post in the public forum, if you have the nerve.
I put my trust in Comodo support earlier. The result was them closing my ticket without any solution. Oh don’t believe me. See below…

That is the only communication from Comodo support I have received. Yes I have PM 2 other Mods., who have responded. However this issue is still to be addressed. Not speaking well for Comodo. Of course that is just me opinion.
I also have forwarded your PM to an Administrator to chase up with the Support Centre. Gotta agree that it’s bad form to close the call without an answer.
When support respond to a ticket asking for further information the ticket status goes automatically to closed.
When a customer replies to the request the ticket status turns back to open.
So, at this time, the support team are waiting for you to respond.
As per the reply theey sent ‘Could you please elaborate more on the issue with screen shot’s’.
Screenshots allow us to see what you are actually seeing.
One thing to check, and include in your reply to the support team.
Start IE7, select Tools, Internet Options, Content, Certificates.
Look in the Personal store.
If the certificate is not in there, then it will not be available for any mail client on that PC.
The screen shot that were requested have been sent. Actually they were sent at 3:48pm. They requested them at 3:30. I will resent them. If I have a address I will resend you the email that was sent to them as well.
Did you check the Personal store of IE? Yes they are there. However they don’t seem to be able to apply to Windows Mail.
Also, is the email address used in the Windows Mail account exactly the same as the one you applied for the digital ID for? Yes it is exactly the same.
Did you check the Personal store of IE? Yes they are there. However they don't seem to be able to apply to Windows Mail.
This usually means (since it is visible in IE but not in the mail client) that the email address setup in Windows Mail is different from the one in the certificate.
Also, is the email address used in the Windows Mail account exactly the same as the one you applied for the digital ID for? Yes it is exactly the same.
Since the above email addresses match I can only summize that there is an issue with Windows Mail.
If you can see the certificate using IE, it means it has been collected correctly, is on your machine, and is available to be assigned. Not seeing it in Windows Mail (or any mail client), even though the email address is exactly the same suggests an issue with Windows Mail (or the mail client being used) .
