Hope this works
(:AGY)
I stopped using Comodo awhile ago on all computers except my wifes. It was configured already and she’s a pain in the ■■■ when it comes to having to configure anything, If anything gets blocked, or anything doesn’t work.
Guess what Comodo updated itself, I don’t know how long it’s been asking ti update, I don’t use her computer, to 3.0.14.276.
And now ALL INTERNET ACCESS IS BLOCKED AND THE FIREWALL WILL NOT UNISTALL!
These instruction are meant to be followed AFTER the program in uninstalled, so now what?
Downloading the installer ask if I want to uninstall and fails as well.
NOT GOOD!
Have you tried uninstalling in Safe Mode (F8)
Dennis
Doesn’t work in safe-mode either. The uninstaller either never starts or shuts down right immediately.
These instructions will remove Comodo regardless however it may remain in the Add remove programs if you use these instructions to remove CFP3 you will have to force removal from add remove try removing in safe mode with an Admin account login It will not allow uninstall in a limited user account. Did you consider you might have a virus blocking Internet access
OD
I tried removing under the administrator account anyway although there are no limited users on this computer.
I’m going to run the BAT file in safe-mode.
I doubt I have a virus blocking the internet since the Comodo panel say the firewall is “malfunctioning”
Ran the BAT file and over half of the files were’nt found. I think something might’ve happened during the install to seriously hose it.
The batch file worked! Now to clean up and remove from add remove.
Thanks guys.

Time to face problems with Vista and Comodo version for this OS (3.0.21.329). As many said before me here (but they were running XP), after I uninstalled Comodo, it seems that it is still running.
Maybe the problem is in Windows (XP, Vista or whatever) and maybe Microsoft is not interested in solving these problems with non-Microsoft programs. So maybe it’s time that Comodo starts to take care of these bugs, because - whatever is the cause of those problems - users will always think it’s Comodo’s fault.
Thank you.
P.S. I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it the first time. Then I re-installed and uninstalled it with Revo again. Then I cleaned the registry with CCleaner and then again with Wise Registry Cleaner. And then i also used (as administrator) your uninstall tool. Every program I used said that the uninstallation was ok. But Comodo is running in background…
Hi droalex,
With “running in background”, do you mean that the process for either cfp.exe or cmdagent.exe is active in the memory? If that’s the case, they can’t be removed while running, so you’ll have to terminate them and then remove them.
Cheers,
Ragwing
Hmm…20,000th view today for this thread, only 116 days after it was started.
I really don’t want to see this go to 30,000, frankly.
Comodo, let’s make simple, seamless uninstallation of CFP a top priority from here on out, OK? Especially for Vista users.
You’ve got the updater working well, so let’s take the next big step forward for the benefit of those who – for various, legitimate reasons – cannot or do not want to use CFP and need to remove it completely from their systems.
Thanks.
Well, not really. Those processes are not running. But so what? The fact that they are not running, it means that I shouldnt care about Comodo Firewall that is ON according to Vista security features? I dont want to have Comodo among them since i uninstalled it!! So? What’s the answer to that? How to uninstall Comodo 100% from our Vista System?!?
Go to this thread below to remove from Security Centre.
Dennis
EDIT Please post again if this does not work I have a slightly more complicated way which I have used twice
Have V3 tried to uninstall failed with message oledlg.dll missing (:WAV)
You can download it from here. Place it in \WINDOWS\system32.

I am just amazed. Yesterday Comodo locked up on me, and I uninstalled, downloaded the new version, and reinstalled. This morning the new version was not allowing any internet connection at all, although what few settings I was allowed to see appeared to be correct. I ended up uninstalling in order to get back online, but windows thinks it’s still running. I’ve got no firewall now (time to shop for another, I guess). There is absolutely no way I follow the instructions in the original post. None at all. I would never have installed in the first place if I’d known that using it required such a high level of technical expertise.
Welcome to the forum, eKatherine.
We’re sorry to hear about the issue you had with removing and reinstalling CFP.
Please try the batch file created by Ragwing. There’s a very good chance that this file will remove the remnants of the previous installation and allow you to install the latest version of CFP.
As you pointed out, the list of instructions for a comprehensive removal is daunting, and we hope the uninstaller in future editions of CFP will incorporate these steps so that users will not have to set aside a couple of hours just to remove a firewall.
Let us know if you try the script files and whether you succeeded in reinstalling CFP. Your feedback on this would be very useful to the programmers and developers.
Hi Stephen,
I noticed that on different systems legacy keys may be located under different ControlSets, e. g.:
- CurrentControlSet + ControlSet004 + ControlSet005; under ControlSet001-003 no entries related to Comodo;
- CurrentControlSet + ControlSet001 + ControlSet002;
You are correct.
The appearance of those LEGACY keys that are specific to Comodo will vary from system to system, as the enumeration of ControlSets will generally range between 001 and 003. However, if a user plans to reinstall CFP, those LEGACY keys will be recreated and will overwrite any existing entries. Therefore, removing them prior to reinstallation isn’t necessary.
Still, your script is useful to users that may be experiencing other issues related to those keys.
Thanks, didn’t know that.
It’s used for Last known good configuration, so therefore people might have more or less. I myself have CurrentControlSet, Controlset001 and ControlSet002.

Ragwing
