Francisco Partners acquires Comodo CA

So just a blog post…nothing on the comodo.com newsroom section.

And still no assurances regarding the bulk of the Comodo products.

If Melih sells COMODO as a whole one day, I believe that will be it for me and COMODO. It is because NO ONE has the mind, good intentions and success in creating Real Trust as Melih does/will.

Wish you all the best Melih in all your projects! :-TU

very kind words, i hope i can live up to your expectation.

Its impressive  When it comes to Certificates, Comodo slaps the competition around. Comodo doesn’t set the bar for standards, Comodo is the bar

Hi Melih

I’m sorry to hear that you (Comodo) are leaving the CA market :'(. I guess when you’ve reached the top, you need new challenges ;D. I wish you all the best in your new venture and hope to hear one day, that you reach #1 in that area too.

A big THANK YOU for all the great products you have provided us over the years for free and continue to do so :-TU. As a Linux user now, I can honestly say, the main reason I use Windows at home now is because of your products (CIS/CCAV). Good luck!!!

Could someone please let me know who bought Comodo and if it is sold will the next company still further develop CIS and will it still be free. Melih was always the driving force within the company and when its all said and done Melih will always be Comodo just like Steve Jobs is Apple even though he isn’t with us anymore. I am not happy to hear about this if it is true. Can somebody please confirm my questions.
Sven

It was the Certificate Authority side only - last year:

Thats is great to hear. Now the question is how will Comodo make money considering the CA part of the business was a major source of revenue. Will we start having to pay for CIS. I sincerely hope not.
Sven

There’s a lot more from Comodo than CIS, but I’ve always paid for the Pro version in any case. If it’s of good value to you, then . . . . ?
