The Flash Plug-In out of date warning came up the very first time I opened the Comodo Web browser. So I clicked on the link to update it and all that happens is the page tries to open and the page opening logo keeps cycling around and back (not completely around, just around a little way then back) and at the same time the ‘X’ for closing or stopping an action that sits on the top bar next to the ‘home’ logo and web address bar keeps flicking/flashing on and off in time with the cycling back and to of the page loading indicator.
Now i went directly to the adobe page in the end to try circumventing the link and it still happened when I tried to update the adobe flash player by this method.
So can anyone tell me what the heck is going on and how can I resolve this dilemma. You see every time I open any webpage the warning bar comes up at the top telling me the Flash Player is out of date and until I either click the ‘Run this time’ box I cannot browse the web page.
Your help and advice would be appreciated as i only came to Comodo on advice from other concerned citizens who dislike being snooped upon by big brother Google.
Hi Kev_C and welcome,

Kind regards.
Many thanks for the prompt response. It was driving me nuts having to fly blind all the time. Its easy when you know how ain’t it?
Note to self…Must learn the basics.
Btw… is the Flash plugin sandboxed as it is with Chrome? Stupid question perhaps, but better a stupid question and knowing for sure than an intelligent question by assuming you’re sure
Er excuse me for stating the bleeding obvious here but it ‘is’ my thread and the question ‘was’ mine and the answer ‘was’ requested by me.
So what’s all this ‘Off Topic’ issue? And the starting of a new thread?
I would also like to point out that you took the issue off topic if anyone did by adding an unrequested comment. I asked what sand-boxed meant in relation to the Flash Plug-In issue and I was told by the same person who used the term in answer to the previous ‘On Topic’ question that I had asked. So what is the big macho deal?
If your going to talk to people like that and start ordering people around like you own the place then not only will I stop using the forums voluntarily I will also cease to use Comodo and any of its products. I am not a geek but I am not a subservient fool either. There is such a thing as appropriate behaviour and you overstepped the mark.
Sorry, no offense intended. Most people do not like getting their threads hijacked, so I was stepping in before it went too far astray.
As a forum moderator, one of my duties is to keep threads from getting hijacked. (posting questions/comments not directly relevant to the original topic)
Please feel free to review the Forum Policy, regarding acceptable posting behavior. (Section 5)
Your original topic was regarding difficulties updating the Flash plugin. Metalfyre posted a question in this thread asking if Flash was sandboxed like it is in Chrome. This question has nothing to do with the question you initially asked, therefore it is off-topic. I suggested that if he wanted to continue a discussion about the sandboxing behavior, he should create his own thread.
I’m sorry you do not agree with this suggestion, but I have to make it. Otherwise, I would not be doing what I am supposed to be doing.
Metalfyre used your topic for a new question which is unrelated to your initial question.
It is good practice to not change the topic’s subject (topic hijack). Apart from being disruptive, and topci starters are usually not happy with this, it also makes it harder to search the forums for somebody who is looking for an answer to that question.

HeffeD reaction was meant for Metalfyre and was not aiming you.
Keeping the conversation going, unless it is obvious trolling, is what is important. We want people to communicate about things that matter. Keeping that going is what counts. We can always do some moderator’s split magic later.
I am certain HeffeD did not mean to be disruptive or was aiming to upset you in any way.
