Firewall configuration

I have dsl through Verizon and the Modem has its own Firewall. If I only want to use Comodo Firewall is there anything else I need to do other than turn the modems firewall off? When I log into the modem and turn the firewall off, I never see any logged alerts in Comodo Firewall and was wondering if it is even blocking anything or if it is blocking but just not recording any events.

Edit by EricJH: changed all caps title to normal case

It’s best to leave the router’s firewall switched on. The router’s firewall in consumer products does only monitor incoming traffic and will protect from unsolicited access requests. They do not filter outgoing connections.

With the new default rules Comodo firewall will not log. To get all connection attempts logged you need to first set CIS to be stealth ("Block all incoming connections and make my ports stealth for everyone"in the Stealth Ports Wizard) and then edit the basic block rule (in Network Security Policy → Global Rules) to log.

Thanks for the help. I will give it a try.
