Firewall Blocking USB Ports/Keyboard in Latop and Hanging at Shutdown

Hi OptizStreamz here

I just installed Comodo Firewall (latest updates) on my laptop yesterday and I woke up this morning to find that not only my keyboard will not type, in addition, none of my USB ports were recognized, and my laptop trackpad won’t work. I decided to shutdown the computer, only to find my laptop hangs at shutdown.

Sager Laptop Specifications:
Windows 7 32-bit Professional

Following steps I have taken:
Boot up on Safe Mode - found USB ports were recognized, keyboard will type
Ran Malwarebytes
Ran Spyware
Reinstalled drivers

Since in Safe Mode I find that I’m able to type, USB ports are able to be recognized, and mouse trackpad works, I’m not sure why at Normal Mode, I can neither type, connect any USB drives, or use the trackpad.

Thanks for your help.

Please include information on your settings for Comodo. What configuration are you using, i.e Internet Security, Proactive Security, Firewall Security? Is HIPS enabled? What mode is HIPS in (Safe/Paranoid)? What are your Behavior blocker settings?

I’m only using the Comodo Firewall

Currently the laptop that has Comodo Firewall is on Safe Mode and I’m using a different computer to post these screenshots.

Can you post a screenshot of the Defense+ logs?

After you reinstalled the drivers (for your USB ports, keyboard and track pad I assume) did you try to log back into Windows?

How do I check the Defense+ logs?

I have already logged in to see whether reinstalling the drivers will work, which they don’t.

It is a little confusing because when I start up Windows and it asks me for my password, the keyboard and mouse will work fine. It is only after I log in is the time when the keyboard and mouse don’t work.

By the way, Firewall Security is active. What is the primary difference between the other two security?

To find the D+ logs go to Tasks → View Logs → under Show choose Defense + Events.
